The wing is headed by an officer of the rank of Sr. DAG/DAG and is responsible for conducting audit of civil departments of the State Government viz.

10. Welfare of SC &BC 21. Banks Disbursing payments ofPensionary benefits etc
11. Planning Department 22. Civil offices of Union Government in terms of Section 13 of the comptroller and Auditor General's (Duties Powers and Conditions of Service) Act, 1971.

The audit of bodies or authorities substantially financed by grants or loans from the Consolidated Fund of the Union/State, PUDA, Punjab Mandi Board etc. falling within the jurisdiction of Punjab is also undertaken. Apart from regularity audit, such aspects as economy, efficiency and effectiveness of the expenditure incurred are also covered in audit. Some of the developmental schemes are reviewed periodically to ascertain the efficiency and effectiveness in the implementation there of.
