Sr. No. Section Functions & Responsibilities
1. Works Headquarter Section (WHQ) This section is responsible for co-ordination of work of  the wing, preparation of tour programme of field parties for local audit of all branches of Public Works Department i.e.Buildings and Roads, water supply and sanitation and Irrigation including CPWD (located in Punjab) and BBMB units.
2. Central Audit Support Section (CASS) There are three CASS Sections and deal with issue of LARs and pursuance of outstanding audit paras/reports alongwith relevant correspondence with the concerned divisions/offices.
3. Central Audit Parties (CAPs) There are six Central Audit Parties in the wing.  These parties have been housed in the office of the Accountant General (A&E) Punjab & UT, Chandigarh and three CAPs at Nangal, Sunder Nagar and ShahpurKandi.  The CAPs, according to the prescribed schedule are to conduct central audit of accounts submitted by the Divisions of PWD/Irrigation, Water Supply & Sanitation Department and Projects
4. Draft Para Cell (DP Cell) The DP Cell is responsible for the work of selection of topics for LDPs and Reviews proposes for inclusion in the Audit Report (Civil) each year,  Vetting, processing of SIR cases, LDPs and Reviews and their submission to Report Section.
